Job Summary
The Occupational Health Nurse aids in maintaining employee safety through nursing care and site collaboration. Provides holistic care and resources to employees for injury and illness prevention, wellness education and medical surveillance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-
Provide on-site treatment / management of injuries and minimize the need for off-site medical treatment
-
Provide or assist with emergency response as per client protocol
-
Give onsite care, first aid, and follow up treatment to for work-related injured/ill workers
-
Assess and provide onsite care and first aid for non-work related episodic urgent care needs
-
Provide disability case management for workers’ compensation and disability leaves of absence
-
Utilize designated medical record database and provide reports to management as applicable
-
Maintain or consult on OSHA recordkeeping requirements
-
May perform medical testing including but limited to: TB tests, blood draws, immunizations, drug screening, vision tests, hearing tests, respirator fit tests and medical evaluations
-
Perform First Aid, CPR with AED as needed for medical emergency
-
Train onsite team: First Aid, CPR, & AED
-
Maintain, organize, and inventory clinic supplies for treatment and preventative measures in the workplace

Assess need and provide over the counter medication for episodic urgent care as appropriate
-
Provide preventative health education as needed
-
Coordinate wellness initiatives for client population in collaboration with client stakeholders
-
Virtual support for US wellbeing program, by referring program participants in US to ecosystem of vendor partners resources such as health insurance, health navigation system, etc.

Assist with onsite health & wellness programs, including case management, education and testing
-
Perform Drug and Alcohol collections according to client policy

Provide travel consults and immunizations, as appropriate

Participate in safety and wellness committee meetings, as appropriate

Participate in safety walk throughs, as requested by client
-
Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
-
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid RN license
-
Bachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferred
-
Must hold current BLS certification
-
3–5 years RN experience required
-
2-3 years’ experience in an urgent care, emergency department or occupational health setting preferred
-
Certification in Occupational Health preferred
-
Certification in Case Management preferred

Computer Skills
-
Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.
Physical Demands
-
May require sitting for extended periods of time, working at a desk.
-
Some bending and stretching could be required.
-
Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
-
Manual dexterity required for use of handling medical equipment, performing medical procedures, and using computer keyboard and mouse; Use hands/fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Requires ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch throughout the shift.
-
Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds; Frequent lifting of 5-10lbs; Occasional lifting of 10-50 lbs; May be required to lift over 50 lbs. while assisting with lifting/transporting a patient.

Ability to kneel and perform chest compressions for CPR life saving measures.
-
Must be able to navigate uneven surfaces and stairs daily
-
May be required to drive as part of job requirements.
Work Environment
-
Mainly indoor, office environment conditions along with periodic exposure to production/manufacturing area
-
The noise level is usually moderate, with occasional exposure to high noise levels in production/manufacturing areas throughout facility.
-
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE such as respirator, hearing protection, and other equipment required in production areas.
-
Air quality is good and temperature is controlled, with occasional exposure to heat and humidity along with cold and dry areas located through production/manufacturing areas
The schedule for this position is Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm and Tuesday, Thursday 9:00am - 6:00pm.
Final compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
