Call for Nominations -- MONL DAISY Nurse Leader Award

The Missouri Organization of Nurse Leaders' DAISY Nurse Leader Award was established to recognize exceptional nursing leadership that demonstrates compassion and respect for the care front line nurses provide. These leaders value celebrating the impact staff have on patients and their families and create an environment where compassion is valued and recognized.

CRITERIA

Recognized as a DAISY Nurse Leader Award recipient for a DAISY Award recipient who demonstrated exceptional leadership for DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.

• Role models compassion and exemplary leadership practice
• Role models behavior perceived as extraordinary
• Creates an environment that fosters care and compassion
• Creates an environment where attributes of trust, compassion, mutual respect, continued professional development and ethical behavior are modeled and supported
• Motivates staff with a shared vision and enthusiasm to achieve better outcomes for themselves and for their patients
• Is a mentor to staff
• Promotes and enhances the image of nursing within the organization, the community and the profession

LIMITATIONS

• Only one nomination per hospital
• Must have been recognized as a DAISY Awardee who exemplified exceptional leadership or as a DAISY Nurse Leader as described above between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024.

Nomination

Submit to Peggy Taylor the following:

• Copy of original DAISY nomination(s) or Spotlight link from organization
• Letter of endorsement from the organization's chief nursing officer or his/her designee
• Contact information for nominee and organization point of contact
• MONL DAISY Nurse Leader Nomination Narrative
• Address defined criteria specifically
• Compose narrative in organized manner with clarity
• Narrative is free of grammatical errors

The deadline for nominations is Friday, August 23. Please note that separate submissions are required for each individual you with to nominate.

The winner of the MONL DAISY Nurse Leader Award will be announced at the November 12 MONL Annual Membership Meeting and Conference which will be held in conjuncation with MHA's 102nd Annual Convention which will be held November 13 - 15 at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel Crown Center.

The winner will receive a one year paid membership to MONL, registration to MHA's 102nd Annual Convention and a ticket to MONL's Annual Meeting and Conference.

All nominees will be invited to attend the MONL Annual Meeting and Conference as all nominees will be recognized. Registration fees apply to all attendees excluding awardees.

The awards selection committee is comprised of health care professionals from across Missouri.
